Terms of Service
Effective: August 9, 2026
Welcome
These Terms govern your use of the Match Caddie iOS and Apple Watch apps and the matchcaddie.golf website (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Jerome Digital LLC ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Match Caddie is
Match Caddie is a tool for scoring golf rounds, viewing GPS yardages, tracking statistics, and playing informal games with friends. It's a scorekeeping and analytics aid — not a rangefinder certified for competition, not an official handicapping service, and not a gambling service.
2. Your account
You sign in with your Apple ID and must be at least 13 years old. You're responsible for the security of your Apple ID and for activity on your account. One account per person; don't impersonate others.
2A. Subscriptions
Some Match Caddie features require a paid subscription. All subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store and billed to your Apple ID — we never receive or store your payment details.
- Auto-renewal.Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions); cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge. After cancelling, paid features remain available until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds.Because Apple processes all payments, refunds are requested from and decided by Apple under their policies (reportaproblem.apple.com). We can't issue App Store refunds ourselves.
- Price changes. If a subscription price changes, Apple notifies you and, where required, asks for your consent before charging the new price.
- Free trials, if offered, convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- What's included in a subscription may evolve over time (see §9); your golf data is never held hostage — scoring and your history don't disappear if you unsubscribe.
3. Your content
You own the content you put into Match Caddie — your rounds, scores, shot data, photos, course markups, and feedback. You give us the license we need to operate the Service: to store, process, display, and share that content as directed by your settings (for example, showing your live round to a friend you've given visibility, or rendering a scorecard at a share link you've created).
- Shared rounds and matches.Scorecards are shared records. When you play with others, the round's scores and game results belong to the group's shared history and remain visible to the other participants even if you later delete your account (your identity is removed; see the Privacy Policy).
- Course data. Course maps and scorecard setups you contribute (tees, greens, hazards, pars) are community data. You grant us a perpetual license to make them available to other users, including after you leave.
4. Accuracy disclaimers
- GPS distances are estimates.Accuracy varies with your device, sky view, and course mapping quality. Don't use Match Caddie for anything where distance errors could cause harm, and confirm competition legality of GPS aids under the rules you play by.
- Handicaps shown in Match Caddie are informational. Official handicaps come from your golf association (e.g., GHIN). Score posting to official systems is your responsibility.
- AI answers can be wrong. Ask Your Data generates answers from your golf history using an AI model; treat its numbers as helpful, not authoritative.
5. GHIN and other third-party services
Connecting your GHIN account is optional. Your GHIN credentials go from your device directly to GHIN's service; we never receive them. Match Caddie is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GHIN, the USGA, or any golf association, and we're not responsible for the availability or accuracy of their services.
GHIN connectivity depends on access that GHIN controls, not us. They may change or discontinue that access at any time, which could degrade or end the GHIN features in Match Caddie without notice. If that happens, the rest of the app keeps working — you can always enter and update handicaps manually.
6. Games and wagers
Match Caddie lets you record informal games (skins, nassau, and similar) including optional stake amounts, purely as scorekeeping between you and the people you play with. Match Caddie:
- does not process, hold, transfer, or guarantee any money;
- is not a party to any wager and takes no commission;
- provides game math for entertainment and record-keeping only.
Whether and how you settle anything you track here is entirely between you and your playing partners. You're responsible for ensuring any wagering you engage in is lawful where you play. Don't use the Service for organized or commercial gambling.
7. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service. That includes: no unauthorized access or scraping; no interfering with the Service or other users' data; no uploading unlawful content or content you lack rights to; no harassing other users; no entering other people's personal information beyond what's reasonable for scorekeeping; no reverse-engineering except where the law says we can't stop you.
We may remove content or restrict features that violate these Terms or create risk for other users, with or without notice.
8. Other people's data
If you add players ("buddies") or score rounds for others, you're entering information about other people. Only do that in the context of playing golf together, and honor requests from those people to remove their information.
8A. Copyright and IP complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent — Jerome Digital LLC
17735 W Guthrie St
Surprise, AZ 85388
503-360-5930
support@matchcaddie.golf
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a notice needs all of the following: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the work you say was infringed; identification of the material you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it; your contact information; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.
We'll remove or disable access to infringing material and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same agent.
9. Availability and changes
The Service is provided by a small operation and may change, break, or be interrupted. Features may be added, altered, or removed, including features you like. We'll be sensible about it, but we don't guarantee uptime, data availability, or that any feature will exist forever. Back up anything you can't lose (scorecard PDFs export nicely).
10. Termination
You can stop using Match Caddie anytime and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create risk for us or other users. Sections that by their nature survive (3, 6, 11, 12, 13) survive termination.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
For clarity: nothing in the Service is a representation about the outcome, fairness, or collectability of any wager you choose to make with other people (see §6).
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of your unlawful use of the Service or content you submitted in violation of these Terms, you'll cover the reasonable costs and damages arising from that claim.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
14. App Store
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store, and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app binary. Apple isn't responsible for the Service and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they apply to the app, and may enforce them against you.
15. Changes to these Terms
If we materially change these Terms, we'll update the date above and note the change in the app or on the website. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
