Cost and plans

What does it cost?

The beta is free, with everything switched on. At launch, scoring rounds and keeping your history stays free; a subscription unlocks the premium features. Pricing lands with the App Store release — see exactly what’s free and what’s Premium.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. When subscriptions arrive with the App Store release, Premium starts with a free month. During the beta, everything is already switched on.

Do I have to pay to play in my buddy’s match?

No. Join a match someone else is hosting and everything is switched on for you — the games, live scoring and the settle-up — free. Premium is for hosting, never for playing.

What happens if I stop subscribing?

Nothing is deleted. Your rounds and past game results stay right where they are. The analytics, your yardage book marks and your shot reviews go out of view until you come back, and then they’re all there again.

On the course

Does it work with bad cell signal?

Yes — scoring never waits on the network. Course data is cached on your phone, everything records locally first, and syncs when you have signal again.

Which courses can I play?

US courses, with more added every night. If yours is missing, request it from the course search in the app and you’ll get a notification when it’s added.

How many players can I score?

One phone can score up to 5 players. A match can run up to 3 groups, and anyone with the app can score their own card — it all comes together on one match scorecard.

Does Match Caddie handle the money?

No. It keeps score and works out who’s up, who presses and how the games settle. Match Caddie never touches money — settling up is between you and your group.

Will it drain my battery?

It’s built to be easy on it. GPS works hard only while you’re playing a round, not all day in the background.

Can I fix a score after the round?

Yes. Edit any score after the round, and restore a round you deleted by mistake.

Friends and privacy

Do my friends need the app?

No. One phone can score the whole group. Friends you’re linked with in the app can watch your round live, free, and friends with the app can score for themselves — it merges into one scorecard. With Premium you can also send a live link anyone can open in a browser, no app or account needed.

Who can see my rounds?

You decide, friend by friend: Full, Standard or Limited. Separate switches cover your live rounds, finished rounds and stats.

Handicap

Does Match Caddie calculate my handicap?

No. Your Handicap Index® comes from your golf club and is issued by the USGA. Enter it on your player card, or connect your GHIN® account (Premium) to keep it up to date automatically. Match Caddie uses it to work out strokes for each round.

Can it post my score to GHIN®?

Not yet. Match Caddie shows your postable score after the round (Premium), ready to enter in the GHIN® app. Posting straight from Match Caddie is planned.

Devices and availability

iPhone only?

Yes. Match Caddie is built for iPhone, the way Apple builds its own apps. Premium adds a companion Apple Watch app for scoring and yardages on your wrist, and the web dashboard for your stats and scorecards in any browser.

What about Android?

Match Caddie is made for iPhone and Apple Watch. If you’d use it on Android, let us know at support@matchcaddie.golf — we read every one.

Can I use it outside the US?

Not yet. For now Match Caddie is in the US App Store only, and the course list is US courses.
